My exploration of the bottle form was inspired by the simple, elegant bottles found in Georgio Morandi's art works. The form has a stillness and beauty , which belies their utilitarian purpose. 
 
The Earth Bottles  have been coil built then carved to expose the raw beauty of clay, faceted to reflect light and shadow, then decorated with a simple Mishima thread of porcelain slip.  This pattern imitates  the single white veins of quartz or silica found in river stones and pebbles, often appear scribbled on, and magical.
