My exploration of the bottle form was inspired by the simple, elegant bottles found in Morandi's art works. The form has a stillness and beauty , which belies the utilitarian reason for their existence. 
The sculptural White Bottles are formed by adding  minerals and golden sand (from Takaka) to white clay, and coiled to  produce simple  forms that appear like stalactites. They are then glazed to 'soften' the appearance of the surface.
